YouTube is mostly concerned with displaying both created and recorded videos on a single website. It is one of Google's products. YouTube is a social media site. A consumer will use this to make a video that meets his needs, whether it's a picture or a video. It's the platform for displaying images. After Google, it is the second most used search engine. It is a platform that allows us to build our businesses in a variety of ways. It's how we show off our programs, content, images, and text. It is beneficial to content producers, marketers, and consumers who profit from it in a straightforward manner.
An individual may create his or her own channel, write some text, design one image, and create videos using photos or actual videos. It's a great way for content makers to get paid for writing articles, animations, and other types of content. It is crucial in the development of social media communities. Social networking, in particular, plays an important role in this. Nowadays, more users are using YouTube. It's a simple way to sway people's opinions. This comes in handy when sharing interests, blogs, hobbies, and histories. Google Plus and YouTube were recently combined. If you want to start a YouTube channel, you'll need a Gmail or Google Plus account. It is more important in generating high-quality SEO traffic to major websites.
There are a few aspects that all social media platforms have in common. YouTube combines all of the features of a social media platform with the fact that it is the world's second biggest search engine, behind only Google. While each platform used to provide a somewhat different style of service, it now appears that each platform is playing copy cat or I can do that too.
There is a cyber war going on, with the main battleground being the top social media sites. Each platform must ensure that it not only maintains but also grows its active user base in order to avoid losing users to other platforms. Operating social media platforms is costly. Servers, programmers, resources, bandwidth, attorneys, IT experts, and the list go on and on. These businesses make money by selling a product, and we are the product they sell to marketers. Although some people do not like to be labeled as a commodity, it has been that way for a long time. TV stations used their ratings to market advertisements, and each station competed to maximize the number of regular audiences to their programs.
As a result, Youtube is classified as a social media platform because it meets all seven of the criteria for a social media platform, which are:
- Online space: The website can provide free web space to users so they can upload content.
- Email address: Each user is assigned a specific web address, which serves as their online identity. They will use this web address to upload and download all of their content.
- Build profiles: Users must enter personal information such as their name, address, date of birth, school/college degree, technical data, and so on. The site then uses the personal information to link people together.
- Make contact with your mates: Users are urged to upgrade their personal and technical information. The site also serves as a place for friends and relatives to communicate.
- Real-time content upload: The ability to upload content in real time is granted to users. Text, photographs, audio, video, and even symbolic likes and dislikes can be used to create this content. The most recent article appears first, maintaining the site's freshness.
- Make conversations possible: Members have the ability to leave comments on posts posted by friends and family. Conversations are a perfect way to meet new people.
- Posts have a time stamp: Both posts are time stamped, making it simple to keep track of them.
YouTube is a platform where people can share their ideas, knowledge, opinions, and other types of material, mostly through videos, but also through pictures and text in recent years. Creators can create a following on this channel much as they can on any other social media site (of subscribers). Fans or subscribers may like/dislike, comment, or retweet their videos after they have been posted. The writers have the ability to react to their critics.
Although most people still use YouTube to watch videos on rare occasions, others are in charge of creating and editing the recordings. To expand their channel, they must market themselves, engage with their viewers, and, like anyone else, watch videos. As a result, YouTube, like Instagram or Twitter, is a place where millions of people come together to connect and share their views, opinions, or facts.
People who make the videos you're seeing, like people who share on Facebook or Twitter, are producing content. They're establishing a subscription base that will get updates of new video content when it's released, equivalent to how you would "like" a Facebook page or follow a Twitter account. Some of them are also forming vibrant, active societies. One of my favorite YouTubers has created a group of people who play video games together, support their own community-run servers, create game tailored to the genre of game play, and, in recent years, have also begun developing new, original video games with development teams from within the community.
Since users can communicate with each other by like, replying, posting, and commenting on videos, YouTube is called a social networking site. Aside from that, YouTube launched the Community Tab for channels with 1000 or more viewers last year. Creators may use the group tab to upload polling, videos, animated images, posts, and more. This allows the audience to connect more often because it eliminates the need for the channel owner to publish a new video, which is time-consuming, and thus creates surveys or updates that encourage users/subscribers to participate. This is a powerful engagement feature that strengthens the idea that YouTube is a social media platform.
